In the program Outlook 365 you can add various types of email accounts. Whether you are a Gmail, Yahoo, Exchange, Microsoft 365, or iCloud user – now you can have all your mail in one place. However, to set it up, you first need to complete a few steps.

  1. Run the Microsoft Office 365/Outlook 2019 program.

  3. Wpisz adres e-mail, który jest przeznaczony do konfiguracji.

  6. Wprowadź hasło, które było podane podczas tworzenia skrzynki pocztowej.
  7. Click the “OK” and “Finish” buttons.

Office 365 mail does not accept the password – what to do next?

It happens that during logging into corporate Outlook mail, the program does not accept the password. If you are sure you are entering the correct data, check whether the email account requires additional security. Increasingly, services such as iCloud, Gmail, or Yahoo use two-factor authentication. This way they make sure it is really you trying to access the email account.

In such a situation, in order to be able to click on, Outlook mail, 'sign in', an app password may be required. To obtain it, for example from the Gmail provider, click:

  • the Google app icon in the top right corner of the screen;
  • buttons "Account", then "Security" and "Signing in to Google Account".

Problems adding an email account to Outlook mail – what next?

Sometimes the email account needs to be added manually to Office mail, that is Outlook. In such a case, you should follow the instructions below.

  1. Open the Outlook program.
  2. Click the "file" and "add account" buttons.

During this procedure, you also influence the mail protocol through which your mail will be received. The options are:

  • IMAP – if you choose this option, all copies of messages will remain on the server;
  • POP 3 – if you select this protocol, the program will download all emails to the computer and delete them from the server.

It is also necessary to decide what type of security should be used for incoming and outgoing mail. The recommended one is SSL because it is the safest.
