Windows 7 / 10 / 11 how to uninstall the product key

The following instruction concerns the proper uninstallation of a key in an OEM license. OEM license.

Attention! Use the following instruction only only when you intend to reinstall the system or change the device to a different one!

To uninstall the product key from the registry go to command line, then go to the search box in the Start menu and type: cmd.exe

Then click right mouse button / Run as administrator

And enter the following commands:

slmgr.vbs /upk

slmgr.vbs /cpky

slmgr.vbs /rearm



Restart the computer after entering the commands.


Actions of entered commands:
slmgr.vbs /upk - Deactivates the system.
slmgr.vbs /cpky - Removes the key from the registry.
slmgr.vbs /rearm - Resets the trial period - an additional 30 days of system usage.
