Windows 7 / 10 / 11 how to uninstall the product key


The following instruction is about how to properly uninstall a key in an OEM license.

Note:
Use the following instruction only if you intend to reinstall the system or change to another device!

To uninstall the product key from the registry
go to the command line, then go to the search box on the Start menu and type: cmd.exe

Then rightclick / Run as administrator

And enter the following commands:

slmgr.vbs /upk

slmgr.vbs /cpky

slmgr.vbs /rearm



Restart your computer
after entering the commands.


Actions of the entered commands:
slmgr.vbs /upk - Deactivates the system.
slmgr.vbs /cpky - Removes the key from the registry.
slmgr.vbs /rearm - Reinstates the system's trial time - an additional 30 days of system use.




Done!
You can transfer the just uninstalled key to another computer or install another product key for your Windows operating system - it is recommended to use the same Microsoft account.
